Animal Nutrition

Cargill provides customized animal productivity solutions to commercial producers across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Rather than focusing on standardized nutrition products, we create customized ingredient blends and management programs to fit each situation.

In November 2011 Cargill completed the acquisition of Provimi, a global animal nutrition company.  By building on the existing strengths of the two companies, we are creating a global leader with the ability to offer the broadest array of animal nutrition products, services and capabilities.

Cargill spawns a new era in aquaculture with completion of the EWOS transaction in August 2015. This transactions marks entry into the salmon feed business and expands our presence for global aquaculture. Through joined efforts, Cargill will bring together the world’s leading talents in research, nutrition and sustainable innovation to develop nutrition solutions that enable farmers to continue to grow their supply of healthy seafood, improve food production efficiency and reduce their impact on the environment.

Nutrition is a key driver of animal performance

To run a successful business, livestock farmers must manage a multitude of factors that impact the development, growth, health and productivity of their animals. Many aspects of an animal’s performance and productivity are greatly influenced by nutrition. As the animal’s lifecycle progresses, nutritional needs may change, and production goals also drive nutrition requirements.

Our Cargill animal nutrition consultants who are experts in their respective fields, work with farmers to tailor-make performance-oriented feeding programs through which animals receive the right nutrients in the right quantities at the right times. With our innovative feeding solutions we help to deliver optimum development, growth, health and performance of animals, and contribute to the success of farming operations..

In Vietnam

Cargill is one of the leading animal nutrition companies in Vietnam, producing fish and shrimppoultry and swine feed, premix and additives. We established our first feed mill in 1997 and have since grown to own and operate eleven feed mills in Dong Thap, Can Tho, Long An (2), Dong Nai (2), Binh Dinh, Hung Yen, Tien Giang, Hanam and most recently in Nghe An.

We serve the local market through a network of 3,300 dealers in addition to direct sales. We also regularly organize technical workshops and seminars to help farmers increase farming productivity. Since 1997, Cargill has conducted local workshops for over 1.6 million farmers to train and transfer best practices in animal health and nutrition.

Cargill was the first feed producer in Vietnam with a HACCP-certified feed mill.
